There is a 20 percent chance of storm force gusts up to 50 knots across the northern outer waters this morning. By this afternoon, winds are expected to shift to the southwest and west behind the cold front, with the potential for additional Gale force wind gusts up to 35 knots. The strong Gale force winds will likely bring large and very choppy seas today and tonight, with the potential for breaking waves at Morro Bay and Ventura Harbors. In addition, there is a slight chance of thunderstorms today and tonight across the coastal waters, capable of producing brief heavy downpours, strong winds, small hail, dangerous cloud to ocean lightning, and isolated waterspouts.
